Gil has been working on the conception of a chess set for the past 10 years and it has come to fruition. The theme of the set is the Industrial/Mechanical World - vs - the Natural/Organic World. Theme chess sets began making their way into the mainstream chess world in the 18th Century. This is a substantial, show stopping piece of functional art and very impressive in person. It is an edition of 20 + 2 Artist Proofs. It is recommended for display on a tall pedestal (suggested size 30 ¼” x 16” x 39 ½”) for standing play or with barstools pulled up to it for sitting play or simply placed on a coffee table.

The size of the board in 36.5" x 36.5" including the stainless steel corners shown in the photos, with an overall height (Queen piece being the tallest) of 10.5". The Set includes 32 individual original Bruvel stainless steel/bronze sculptures (the chess pieces) and 4 board corners. The stainless steel sculptures as well as the corners have been hand patina by Gil. Further, each chess piece has a considerable weight to it adding to the overall stately appearance of the set. The board itself if handmade and hand painted by Gil. Each board has two individual drawings (remarke) further identifying each boards’ uniqueness.
